NEWBURYPORT — Following the recent retirement of Barry Salt, the Newburyport Fire Department recently promoted Capt. Michael Comora Jr. to the rank of deputy fire chief.

“I look forward to working with the chief and all the guys here. It’s a great department, and I think we’re going to do great things,” Comora said, referring to Fire Chief Stephen Bradbury.
