The University of New Mexico football team has earned bowl eligibility after its 40-35 win over the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Saturday, Nov. 1. With a record of 6-3 and 3-2 in the Mountain West Conference, the Lobos are bowl eligible for the first time since 2016. They also retain a chance to make the Mountain West Championship game.

Coming into the game, the UNLV Rebels were 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play and has won the last three meetings in the series. Under Lobos head football coach Jason Eck, the team went on a fast start. The offense scored 21 points and would lead 21-0 with 12:43 left in the second quarter.
