The president and CEO of Switchpoint is concerned about the state of emergency benefits following the government shutdown.
These words came after Carol Hollowell, the president and CEO of Switchpoint, was named as one of Utah’s most influential women by Utah Business. Some of the emergency benefits Hollowell spoke of include SNAP benefits expiring for the month of November, and possibly beyond should the government shutdown continue.
As of Friday, a federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to continue paying for SNAP benefits amid the government shutdown, but no concrete plans are in place.
Hollowell said food stamps aren’t the only issue arising from the shutdown. The lack of funding also impacts the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
