COUSHATTA, La. -- A single-vehicle crash Saturday morning claimed the life of a Red River Parish resident.

State police said Jackie Barbo, 67, of Hall Summit died in a crash on state Highway 788 near U.S. Highway 371.

The preliminary investigation indicates Barbo ran off the road, hit a culvert and overturned. Barbo was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
