COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Local law enforcement agencies started raising money for childhood cancer this month.
On Saturday, the annual Beard It Up and Color for the Cure campaign started. The campaign started in 2018 in Central Texas and has expanded across 24 states, raising over $800,000 for childhood cancer.
Local law enforcement agencies such as the College Station Police Department, Bryan Police Department, Brazos County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas A&M University Police Department are the agencies participating this year. Sgt. Robert Leseth, a patrol sergeant and public information officer for the university, said the cause resonates with officers.
