DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. – A crash involving a freight truck closed the southbound lane of U.S. 97 for more than eight hours on Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The crash happened around 7:23 a.m., about five miles south of Chelan. The truck, which was hauling a trailer, veered over the center line and into the northbound lane before rolling into a ditch at milepost 232.
WSP officials reported that the driver and passenger were uninjured in the incident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
