FARGO — Barika Kpeenu rushed for 74 yards and three touchdowns to help spark top-ranked North Dakota State to a 38-30 victory against No. 18 Youngstown State on Saturday in Missouri Valley Football Conference play at the Fargodome.
Jackson Williams added a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown late in the second half. The Bison (9-0, 6-0 MVFC) remained unbeaten.
YSU quarterback Beau Brungard completed 19 of 30 passes for 203 yards and one touchdown with an interception. Brungard also rushed for 50 yards and two TDs on 15 attempts.
NDSU senior defensive tackle Jaxon Duttenhefer was thankful he was able to return to the field against the Penguins, after an injury a couple weeks ago.
