To the editor:

In the 30 years that my wife, Denise, and I have resided in Newburyport, we’ve had the good fortune of meeting many wonderful people and getting to know them, one of whom is Jim McCauley. We were not surprised when he ran for City Council in 2019. Jim is a natural leader, and we were excited for our city to have him serving in City Hall council chambers.
