COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The fire that ignited the Falcons in the second half was slowly extinguished as a long pass from the Black Knights led to a late-game winning field goal.
A nail-biter in its own right, Air Force scored their first touchdown in the matchup in a few years. But the nail in the coffin for the boys in blue was the three turnovers suffered from Liam Szarka.
In contrast, the Army had no issues going for big-ticket plays, going for it on fourth down in its own territory multiple times in the second half.
With this loss, Air Force is now 2-6; the team still has something to play for. If they win out, they could still earn their spot in a bowl game.
Their upcoming game will be against a struggling San Jose Spartans team next week.
