PHILADELPHIA -- Chris Tanev of the Toronto Maple Leafs was removed from the ice on a stretcher in the third period of their 5-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday.
The defenseman collided with Philadelphia forward Matvei Michkov at the Toronto blue line at 8:23 and remained face down while being attended to by medical staff.
Michkov was called for interference on the play, which came with the Maple Leafs leading 4-1.
It was Tanev's first game back after missing the previous four because of an upper-body injury. He had an assist on Jake McCabe 's goal that made it 2-1 in the second period.
