CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) - Saturday saw a bunch of local teams and athletes punch tickets to Detweiller Park for the IHSA state cross country meet.
Sectional meets across the state saw some speedy times in a variety of conditions.
1A Cumberland Sectional • St. Joseph-Ogden finishes first as a team on the boys' side with 114 points. Georgetown-Ridge Farm was second with 117, Cumberland finishes third with 121, Unity fourth with 140 and Effingham-St. Anthony fifth with 147 • Tuscola's Blake McNeese was second individually, running 15:15, Monticello's Eli Anderson was third at 15:16, Sullivan's Johnathan Iacobazzi fourth at 15:16 • Shelbyville wins as a team on the girls' side with 91 points.
