D’Angelo has reportedly been laid to rest following his death at age 51 from pancreatic cancer.
Huff Post deputy editor Philip Lewis shared a funeral program from D’Angelo’s friend Bill McGee that indicated the musician’s memorial was held on Saturday, November 1, in Henrico, Virginia. According to the handout, Bishop Ralland V. Robinson conducted the service and gave a eulogy for the “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” singer, while Pastor Jamal Bryant delivered a special video message. Stevie Wonder, harpist Brandee Younger and D’Angelo’s former backing back The Soultronics all performed musical selections.
