MARTINSVILLE -- For the first time in school history, Plainfield is going to the IHSAA volleyball state finals.
The 3-2 win over Yorktown on Saturday evening at Martinsville High School continues the historic tournament run forPlainfield. Plainfield beat Castle, 3-1, on Saturday morning to advance to the semistate championship game.
“At the beginning of the season, I said that this team was going to be a special team,” Plainfield coach Lori Pax said. “I told the team going into today that every game is going to get harder and it’s going to be a battle back and forth, but if they trust in themselves and go together as a team, we can accomplish anything. They trusted the process and left their heart on the court.
