COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Former Texas A&M football player Chris Larkin helped bring hundreds of Aggies together in the fight against ALS.
Larkin was diagnosed with ALS in 2022. He and his wife, Cissy, founded Aggieland Against ALS, and on Saturday, their organization held a fundraiser 5k/walk and an ice-bucket challenge.
Over 500 Aggies participated, which set a new record for the largest campus-wide ice bucket challenge. They also raised around $250,000.
“We know that the spirit of Aggieland is strong,” Lindsay Mcelwee, managing director of development for the ALS Association, said. “We knew that if we had a challenge that our Texas A&M community could help us meet it.”
When Cissy Larkin got involved in the fight against ALS, she set off to find how much would need to be raised
