Emily in Paris star, Lucien Laviscount, who portrays Alfie Peterson, revealed that there will be a major "curveball" in the first episode of season 5. He also teased Emily's (Lily Collins) jealous side coming out in the new installment.

Laviscount told Us Weekly during an interview that after he watched the premiere episode of Emily in Paris season 5 , he was in shock. Despite being a part of the cast and knowing well beforehand what was going to happen, the actor stated that he still needed a few days to process what he had watched. “ I don’t want to give away too much, but one thing I will say is … when I got episode 1 emailed over with their high-tech security … it took me about two or three days to kind of process. ”
