Clear Springs had everything going against it.
Down 13-7 with 2:25 to go, the Chargers were backed up to their own 9-yard line with an offense which had struggled mightily to sustain any progress.
But for a few hot moments, Springs found life on a cool Friday night.
With quarterback Kody Rosas hitting every target, the Chargers moved 91 yards in six plays with Gavin Bickham hauling in a 17-yard TD pass with 1:05 to play which fueled a riveting 14-13 victory at Challenger Columbia Stadium.
“It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get up,’’ Anthony Renfro, Springs’ head coach, told his club after the game.
