A man has been charged following an alleged serious assault in Bowen Hills, 1 November.

It will be alleged that around 10:30pm a 28-year-old man was sitting on the footpath on Mallon Street when he was approached by another man who is not known to him. A verbal altercation occurred, before the other man allegedly stabbed him in the neck with a fork.

He was transported to Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Police attended the scene and arrested a 33-year-old Bowen Hills man. He has been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and common assault.

He is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 3 November.
