Even in a loss, the Windsor Spitfires are still where they want to be.

The Spitfires fell 6-3 on the road to the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday, but, despite the loss, the club hit the quarter-pole mark of the season in first place in the Western Conference.

“We need more from a lot of guys, but, on a whole, if you had asked me at the start of the season if I would take us being 12-3-2, I would say yes,” Spitfires’ head coach Greg Walters said.

Saginaw scored in the opening minute of the game and jumped to a 2-0 lead just 73 seconds into the game.

Windsor battled back, but could never get even in the game despite holding a 43-28 edge in shots.
