Stoney Creek fended off a last-second attempt by Utica Eisenhower Friday night to defeat the Eagles 35-31 in a Division 1 district semifinal.
Visiting Ike had the ball at the Cougars’ 19-yard line with five seconds left when Jack Fredenberg and Jake Lantzy converged in the end zone to bat down a pass intended for Keaton Duda to preserve the win.
Stoney Creek junior Brosie Telegadas had four touchdowns, including a reception of over 30 yards for the go-ahead score to help give the Cougars their first playoff victory since 2020.
