PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) - Washington defeated Normal West 2-0 in extra time in a 2A boys soccer sectional title game Saturday afternoon on their own field.

The Wildcats received a red card in the 28th minute, but held on to a scoreless draw for more than an hour. However, with 89 seconds left in extra time before a PK shootout, Isaac Reetz blasted home the game-winner off a throw-in.

Hudson Scrivner added an insurance goal with 30 seconds left after West pulled their goalie and left their net free.

It is the first sectional title in Washington boys soccer history.

Pure elation, you know. Never won a sectional before. So I feel it was a great accomplishment for not only our team, but also our school.
