PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - St. Vincent continues to live up to the nickname, State Vincent.
The Lady Indians put together a dominant 3-0 victory to clinch their spot in the state semifinals, Saturday.
Seniors stepped up big in the win, with Clara Clifton securing the victory on match point, just popping the ball over the net in a gap between Valle’s defenders.
With the win, St. Vincent heads to the Final Four for a second straight year. And for the then juniors that are now seniors, the moment felt a bit bittersweet. Alaina Cates explained why.
“It’s really bittersweet. A little bit more sweet this time because I know that I am going to get to continue to play,” the senior said. “But knowing that it’s my last day in this gym playing a real game, it’s a little sad.”
