LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - No. 21 Michigan held on for a 21-16 win over Purdue on Saturday night thanks in large part to the play of sophomore running back Jordan Marshall.

With starting running back Justice Haynes out, Marshall racked up 185 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 25 carries.

Marshall's dominant night helped offset a tough night for Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood, who was just 13-of-22 passing for 145 yards with an interception and a lost fumble.

The Wolverines never trailed but the score was tied or within one possession for all but three minutes and 56 seconds of game time.

Michigan improves to 7-2 (5-1 Big Ten) with the victory and Purdue falls to 2-7 (0-6 Big Ten).

The Wolverines have a bye week before hitting the road to face Northwestern in week 11.
