SALISBURY — No matter the season or weather, there is one man who has worked to keep Salisbury clean for the past 27 years with a smile on his face — Uncle Tony. Anthony Dito celebrates his retirement from the Salisbury waste management team after 27 years on the job, with his last hurrah on Friday, Oct. 31.
At 62, Dito has seen it all on the streets of Salisbury. He joined the public works team after a long run as a truck driver stretching as far as Wisconsin. After years on that job, he switched to a more regional route to be closer to his wife and family in Salisbury, but this still kept him from home more than he wanted.
