A 9-year-old girl died after allegedly jumping from the fourth floor of a private school building in Jaipur.

According to information available with India Today, CCTV footage obtained by the police showed the girl falling off the railing from a height of around 48 feet. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police sources said that prima facie, the incident appears to be a case of suicide. However, the school authorities have not yet issued an official statement.

When the police reached the school, they reportedly found that the area where the girl had fallen had been wiped clean and showed no visible bloodstains. The forensics team collected trace samples of blood from the walls and floor, police said.
