Martin St. Louis is the first to admit he doesn’t know a lot about goaltending.
But he does understand very well how an athlete’s mind works.
That’s why the Canadiens head coach made it clear to the media after practice Thursday morning in Brossard that Samuel Montembeault would be his starting goaltender Saturday night at the Bell Centre against the Ottawa Senators. It didn’t matter Montembeault had lost his last two games, had a 2-3-0 record, a 3.82 goals-against average and a .842 save percentage, while Jakub Dobes was 6-0-0 with a 1.97 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
