(KRON) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers are back-to-back World Series champions, beating the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of Major League Baseball’s Fall Classic on Saturday.

But one East Bay team took the opportunity not only to congratulate the Dodgers — but to challenge them.

The Oakland Ballers, an independent Pioneer League team formed in 2024 after the Oakland Athletics were relocated to Las Vegas, claimed their first league title in September — the city’s first baseball championship since 1989.

“Congrats @Dodgers, we think we are better than you are. Want to play a game and see?” the Oakland B's wrote in a social media post.

Now, fans are waiting to see if the Dodgers respond.
