That’s why the Canadiens head coach made it clear to the media after practice Thursday morning in Brossard that Samuel Montembeault would be his starting goaltender Saturday night at the Bell Centre against the Ottawa Senators. It didn’t matter Montembeault had lost his last two games, had a 2-3-0 record, a 3.82 goals-against average and a .842 save percentage, while Jakub Dobes was 6-0-0 with a 1.97 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
Montembeault ended his losing streak against the Senators, making 14 saves in a 4-3 overtime win as the Canadiens improved their record to 9-3-0, good for first place
