Teams from the Transport Department and Traffic Police were stationed at Delhi's borders on Saturday (November 1) as the city's ban on the entry of non-Delhi-registered commercial goods vehicles compliant with BS-III or lower emission standards came into effect.

According to officials, 23 joint enforcement teams have been deployed at key border points, including Kundli, Rajokri, Tikri, Aya Nagar, Kalindi Kunj, Auchandi, Mandoli, Kapashera, and Bajghera toll/Dwarka Expressway, among others.

Officials estimate that between 50,000 and 70,000 vehicles fall below BS-IV emission standards.

The restrictions do not apply to Delhi-registered commercial goods vehicles, BS-VI compliant vehicles, or those running on CNG, LNG, or electricity.
