The opposition parties in Maharashtra have accused the Election Commission (EC) of ignoring repeated complaints about alleged irregularities in the state’s voter lists. They have announced a joint protest in Mumbai on November 1, demanding greater transparency from the poll body.
UBT’s Worli MLA Aditya Thackeray reignited the debate on voter list anomalies with a presentation on October 27, echoing Rahul Gandhi’s earlier “voter theft” allegations. Thackeray claimed that his team had identified more than 19,000 discrepancies in the Worli constituency alone.
