The #18 Sooners improved to 7-2 on the year with a gutsy 33-27 win at 14th ranked Tennessee. It marked Oklahoma's first road victory over a ranked opponent since 2019.

- Despite giving up 255 total yards, the OU defense forced three first half turnovers. It helped the Sooners take a 16-10 lead into halftime.

- The first turnover of the night got the Sooners on the board thanks to a 71-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by R Mason Thomas. It was the longest fumble return in program history.

- Sooners kicker Tate Sandell drilled two 55-yard field goals in the Sooners win. In all, Sandell made four field goals on the night all over 40 yards. Sandell has now made 13 field goals from 40 or more yards this season, establishing a single-season school record.
