I think I am safe in saying that buying takeaway pizza, especially from a well-known brand, has become seriously expensive these days. Still, sometimes it is nice to treat yourself to something a bit more decadent than you standard frozen pizza out of a supermarket's freezer section. ‌

So, for that reason, I decided to see what two of the UK's best-known supermarkets offered in terms of fresh, top-of-the-range pizzas - the best they had to offer, the crème de la crème. With that in mind, where else to start but Marks & Spencer? ‌

Often hailed as the gold standard when it comes to supermarket food, its Chicken Arrabbiata with spicy marinated British chicken and roquito peppers came in at a hefty £6.50p. Weighing 479g, that is £13.57 per KG. ‌
