A 19-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly murdered in Goa on Thursday by the owner of a rented SUV and his two friends, after they suspected that the teenager was attempting to steal the rented vehicle. The police have arrested the three accused in the case.

The police said the body of the victim—identified the victim as Kapil Chaudhary, a native of Pata Khas village in UP’s Hathras district—was found in the bushes near a road in a hilly area of Thivim around 8.30 pm on Friday with multiple injuries on the face and some abrasions on the hands. He was rushed to the district hospital in Mapusa, where he was declared brought dead. The police said they found a PAN card bearing the name Deepak Thakur in his pocket.
