Anant Kumar Singh, the Janata Dal (United) candidate in Mokama constituency, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Jan Suraaj Party worker Dular Chand Yadav, said he had complete faith in the people’s support.
Singh's arrest has come just days before his constituency will go to the polls in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections on November 6.
The former MLA shared a video on Facebook which showed him being escorted by police personnel.
“Satyamev Jayate! I have complete faith in the people of Mokama!! Now the people of Mokama will fight this election,” he wrote in the caption.
Yadav, a gangster-turned-politician, was campaigning for his nephew and Jan Suraaj Party candidate, Piyush Priyadarshi, when he was killed during a firing between two groups on October 30.
