A driver was pulled over by police on the M6 and handed a ticket while doing under 70mph.

The motorist may not have been aware they were doing anything wrong as they were not going over the speed limit.

In fact, the issue was they were driving too slowly in the middle lane of the motorway.

Police said the car was trundling along between 55mph and 60mph and decided to take action against the slow-moving driver.

The inside lane was clear at the time, meaning the motorist was also guilty of middle-lane hogging.
