We called ourselves “the boys,” a brotherhood of a half dozen young men who bonded at Middlebury College in the early 1970s, and Jeff Medoff was in many ways our soulful center.

He still is in spirit, despite just being taken, with astonishing speed, by pancreatic cancer .

What a life he led in his 73 years – father of six, husband of 50 years, gastroenterologist to thousands – fisherman, banjoist, washer of after-dinner dishes and confidante.
