The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that a fresh Western Disturbance will impact the western Himalayan region from November 4, while a low-pressure area forming over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Myanmar coast is expected to cause isolated heavy rainfall over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Sunday.
During the past 24 hours (ending at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday), heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places across Saurashtra & Kutch, Konkan & Goa, central Maharashtra, Assam and Meghalaya.
IMD defines heavy rain as rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm, very heavy rain as rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm, and extremely heavy rain as rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm.
