Navi Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) The start of the Women’s World Cup 2025 final between India and South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium was delayed today as heavy rain swept across Navi Mumbai.
The toss, originally scheduled to take place 15 minutes ago, has been postponed, with additional covers being brought onto the field. Officials said the toss will take place once the rain stops.
The grand finale promises to be a historic occasion as the tournament is set to crown a new champion. This marks South Africa’s maiden appearance in a Women’s World Cup final, while India are contesting their third, having fallen short in 2005 and 2017.
Both sides reached the final on the back of emphatic semifinal wins. India scripted a record chase of 338 against Australia, while South Africa powered past Englan
