The Chief Election Commissioner of India (CEC), Gyanesh Kumar, on Sunday asserted that the Election Commission (EC) has a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of political violence, ahead of the upcoming Bihar polls. His comments came against the backdrop of politician Dularchand Yadav during a rally of Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshini in the Mokama constituency on October 30.
“The Election Commission has zero tolerance towards any form of violence during polls. The elections in Bihar will be conducted in a completely peaceful, law-abiding, and transparent manner,” the poll body chief said during his visit to his alma mater, IIT Kanpur, as reported by the news agency ANI.
He further urged the voters to come out in large numbers without any fear and take part in the celebration
