Police have launched an appeal for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car on a major Birmingham road.

The victim suffered serious head injuries as they were struck by a driver on the A38 Bristol Road, near to the junction of Sir Harry's Road.

The man was taken to hospital, while the driver remained on scene. The motorist is said to be assisting police with enquiries.

The collision involving a car and pedestrian took place at around 7.30pm on Saturday, Nov 1.

West Midlands Police said: "We were called following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bristol Road at just before 7.30pm yesterday (November 1).

"It happened near the junction of Sir Harry's Road and a man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
