An east-end family of four has “lost everything” and will have to start over after a fast-moving fire destroyed their home .
Erica King was watching television in her home on Dunsmure Road around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, when the family dog Niko “started going crazy” — jumping on her and then her daughter’s bed.
Next she heard a hissing sound, followed by several loud pops — and then an explosion. “It blew up and I saw flames,” she said. “Within one minute, there were flames coming into the kitchen.”
King said by the time she got her three-year-old daughter Isabella and dog outside, it looked like the whole house was on fire.
“Thank God I stayed awake, because we wouldn’t have made it out.”
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames that appeared to have originated from the porc
