You don’t forget a smile like that — wide as a prairie sunrise, mischievous as a junior bonspiel prank. Jackie-Rae Greening is getting ready to start her final week at 840 CFCW and delivered her opening line like a mic-dropping country song.

“Shoot away, Mr. Tait — I’m a quitter.”

Of course, she isn’t. Not in the way that matters.

Because in this province — where grain elevators used to outnumber Starbucks and the morning farm report still matters — people like Greening don’t vanish into retirement.

Greening, 64, officially retires Friday as CFCW program director and Stingray’s operations manager at West Edmonton Mall’s cluster of stations.
