SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Indiana State Police have been asked to investigate a man's death at the Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC) South Bend Community Re-Entry Center.
According to a release from ISP, IDOC staff found Christopher Nahas, 44, of Indianapolis, dead in his bed at 11:38 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
State police said IDOC staff attempted live-saving efforts until South Bend EMS arrived.
EMS arrived and pronounced Nahas dead at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Police said an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The IDOC South Bend Community Re-Entry Center is located at 4650 Old Cleveland Road .
