Dejected fans flooded the city’s downtown early Sunday morning, after the Toronto Blue Jays lost the World Series 5-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in extra innings.
On Dundas Street, fans yelled out in frustration as they headed toward the crowded TTC subway station. A small group of people tried to chant “Let’s go, Blue Jays!” towards the crowd of people rushing to get home.
But the attempts at cheering fell on disappointed ears.
One man walked by a group standing at the corner of Yonge and Dundas streets and shouted, “It’s OK, guys, the Raptors will win this year.”
“Shut the f — k up,” a man in the group responded. “Get the f — k out of here with that.”
