An early-morning fire ripped through and destroyed the historic Bantam building in Butler.

Fire crews were called around 2 a.m. on Sunday as flames and smoke poured from the historic building.

Once the flames were put out, the building continued to smolder as the sun came up.

The Friends of the Bantam Jeep Association said it extends its heartfelt gratitude to the first responders and firefighters who worked to contain the fire and keep the community safe.
