The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved another milestone today with the successful launch of its heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The satellite was launched aboard the LVM3-M5, popularly known as ‘Bahubali’, for its exceptional heavy-lift capacity.
The launch took place on schedule at 5:26 PM (IST), marking a major step forward in India’s space communication capabilities.
Record-Breaking Heavy-Lift Mission
The CMS-03 satellite, weighing around 4,410 kg, is the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). The mission further strengthens India’s position in advanced communication and broadcasting technologies.
