Glencoe Elementary’s motto is “an inclusive community that cares, collaborates and perseveres.” As parents who love our school, we were disturbed to learn that Glencoe is being used in a deeply misguided lawsuit over staffing that does not reflect our values or our community, (“ Portland Public Schools sued over race-based teacher allocations ,” Oct. 21).

This lawsuit purports to be in support of students but is clearly just an opportunity for an out-of-state law firm to further the racist politics of the Trump administration. This lawsuit won’t help our kids, nor will it raise more money for our school or compel the Legislature to fund education at a level that would afford every child in PPS the high-quality education they deserve.
