New Delhi: Opener Shafali Verma registered the highest score by an India in the Women’s ODI World Cup final during the 2025 summit clash against South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2.
The 21-year-old amassed 87 runs off 78 balls, smashing seven boundaries and two maximums. She was removed by Ayabonga Khaka and missed her century by 13 runs. Shafali tried to play a big shot on the length delivery, but mistimed it completely and was caught at mid-off by Sune Luus .
