SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The End 2 Epilepsy (E2E) Foundation hosted its second annual benefit at the Elks Lodge in Springfield to honor Max Goldberg, who passed away in 2021.

Saturday's event aimed to raise funds to help individuals with epilepsy gain access to a special contact lens designed to reduce or eliminate seizure activity.

Max was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy known as photosensitive epilepsy, or Sunflower Syndrome, at the age of 8. This condition causes individuals to experience frequent seizures due to exposure to visual stimuli, such as flashing lights, which can greatly diminish their quality of life.
