John Cena dropped a massive announcement on "Saturday Night's Main Event," as he teased his final match in WWE . A 16-man tournament will determine Cena's final match opponent before he officially retires.

That opened up the door to many possibilities, as Cena shared that the tournament could include stars from NXT , Raw, SmackDown, and even some who weren't working in WWE. The promotional video showed various stars, including WWE's Dominik Mysterio, Bronson Reed, and GUNTHER.

It also created the mystery of individuals not currently signed to WWE entering the tournament and possibly winning it. That may have immediately prompted fans to believe AEW stars like Edge or Chris Jericho could participate.
