ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A lengthy standoff in Albertville ended Saturday after police were able to get in the suspect's home and found her with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was treated on scene before being brought to an area hospital via helicopter.

Police also didn't disclose what the suspect was wanted for.

The standoff shut down a portion of Alabama Highway 75 but the roadway has since reopened.

Albertville Police said more information will be released when it becomes available.
